We’ve seen your work before. We (the humans) would love to have you as a part of our team. You might not be a perfect fit. Your work might not actually work. But we’re not making pacemakers. We’re not looking for perfect. So come and be human.
I (the computer program) recognize a dozen Action Verbs and Action Adjectives on your resume. Enhanced, cultivated, surveyed, assessed. Results-oriented, goal-focused. I think you’re the perfect fit for this company. And that’s the point. You’re trying to be a perfect fit. And you are perfect. So come and be perfect. Go enhance, cultivate, survey, and assess.
But when was the last time you surveyed someone or something so as to appraise them? When was the last time you went on a cultivating spree? If you’re so results-oriented, what results do you have to show for it? The list is fine. The proof is more important.
