Outcome and Process

When you imagine the outcome of something – the standing ovation, the roaring laughter, the gold medal – might you also imagine what it would take to get to that outcome?

Imagine the time you’ll spend rewriting, perfecting, putting your head down and putting in the hours to make it the best that you can. Imagine the rejections, setbacks and start-overs. Imagine the process.

This is different than romanticizing our work. When we romanticize our work, no work gets done.

This is just being real.
