Hurry Up, We’re Shipping

Just get it out the door. It’s now or never.

The world is moving faster than ever, and if you’re not shipping your work online, you’re missing out on infinite opportunities for your work to be seen.

But what does it look like to have a proper balance of having the guts to ship, and the patience to edit?

I don’t know. But I’m beginning to think that the answer could be the act of fumbling forward, that is, editing as you ship – using each day to reiterate the definition of your work, and refine how your work is presented across multiple platforms.

The important word here is edit. Edit, don’t perfect. Nobody is expecting you to make a pacemaker. If personal branding is about your personality, and if it’s true that nobody is perfect, then we should expect our personal brand to reflect that truth.
