[10:05 am] This morning, I was going to buy an official domain name for the blog.
But then, GoDaddy.com’s domain service page crashed. Hiccups happen. Murphy’s Law.
This was supposed to be the moment where it felt official. Penguinlatte.blog, instead of penguinlatte.wordpress.com. I’ve been imagining it for weeks.
Should I have kept refreshing the page (which I did, for ten minutes), hoping that somebody on the other end would fix the problem for me? Of course not. But I couldn’t help but think that I was the only person waiting to be served.
When the service that we’re waiting for is digital, it’s easy to think that we’re the only people to be served. There were probably hundreds of people waiting to get their domain service from GoDaddy.
Digitally, we’re rarely the only people in line.
[10:57 am] (I’m still refreshing the page.)
