“Be careful what you wish for.”
Because if it were easier, it wouldn’t be as rewarding.
A better sentiment might be, “if only I were more resilient/patient/diligent/grateful/generous/resourceful/mindful.”
Don’t dwell on the “if only I were…” part for too long. Instead, start practicing being more of what you wish you were. This isn’t faking it until you’ve made it. It’s practicing it because you’re not that good at it yet. Otherwise, why would you practice it?
Wishful thinking can be turned into practical thinking in a matter of seconds. Just move your focus from “it” to “I”.
