How to write something worth reading

I used to think that I couldn’t write. I used to think that the only way to get better at writing was to write. A lot.

And so I sat down to write. I wrote and I wrote and I wrote. I even had the audacity to publish some of the stuff I wrote.

None of it helped.

Being selective about what I choose to hear, being picky about what I notice, what I see, that’s helped me to write better than anything else.

If you’re not paying attention, to everything in and around you, you won’t be able to write anything worth reading. And every day is an opportunity to discover something worth reading.
