I always preemptively cringe before I look at feedback. This happens mostly when I haven’t asked for an honest opinion. My ego expects the worst: Yeah, Paul, what you have here is really just a load of garbage. This makes absolutely zero sense and other fun thoughts rush through my mind before I dare peer into the horrible unknown of the feedback file. Eventually I suck it up. Literally. I take in a sharp inhalation of oxygen before looking at feedback.

And then I look at the feedback, and then everything is fine. Just a few harmless recommendations to make the work better.

Don’t let your fear of feedback back you into a corner crying for momma.
Instead, brace for a boost toward better.
