3 years of experience
I can’t think of anything more arbitrary. Time spent doing a job rarely equals commitment to the job.
‘3 years of settling for mediocre work and low expectations
(oh and I’m also Detail Oriented’)
Be careful. This might be what you get instead.
It’s too easy to slap ‘3 years of experience’ onto a job posting. What you want is someone who’s thrilled to do exceptional work, improve their craft, and sets high expectations. What makes you think that that’s what you’ll get when you pray for someone with 3 years of experience to show up at your door?
Does it take 3 years to make a great portfolio?
Does it take 3 years to realize you might have a knack for this?
Does it take 3 years to get a grasp on what works and what doesn’t?
Does it take 3 years for enjoyment of the work to seep through every vein in your body?
No, no, no, and no.
