Consistency is Not Optional

WordPress tells me that I’m on a 330 day streak. I wouldn’t have noticed.

If you want to be creative for a living, consistency is not optional. A regular practice is as vital to your survival as breathing. And when I say ‘for a living’, I don’t just mean financially. I mean spiritually, psychologically. The true measure of how creative you are isn’t how much stuff you can create in a week. It’s how long you can go without creating. I can’t last a day. Hence, the daily blog.

Consistency is not optional. Your creative habits should be as mundane as breathing. Your creative habits should fall into the backdrop of your life. You shouldn’t notice them. You shouldn’t think about them or even talk about them. Nobody talks about how much they breathe everyday. You do it because you need to. Same thing with creating.
