ever ever ever compromise on your values. This isn’t really possible if you live in a totalitarian country. You’re reading this so I can rightfully assume you can think whatever the hell you want. Which means that it’s entirely possible for you to become the dictator of your own life, your own thought police, your own warden of the prison you’ve built for yourself after 36 years of living an unexamined life. Just as easily as you shit and piss everyday, you can ban yourself from reading books and questioning assumptions. Don’t do that. Examine your values, your beliefs, routines. Examine yourself. Otherwise, we’ll do it for you. We’ll tell you what to believe. We’ll tell you what to say and think and feel. If you don’t examine yourself, you remain ignorant. Heed the warning: ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is torture.
Funny, seems like the more important the lesson, the less likely you’ll hear about it in school. No one ever tells you this because it’s super popular to hate your life, your job, your partner, your kids, your political opponents, it’s popular to hate and criticize and slander and mope and complain and be a miserable sack of shit. Don’t.
