Not unless it interests you. Not unless it’s a topic that you need to write about.
Writing about a topic for the sake of that topic is like getting a degree in computer science only because it pays out the most. It’ll be cool at first…until you admit you’ve always hated computers.
Like people, certain topics are more attractive than others. And certain audiences are conditioned to make certain topics go viral more than others. This isn’t too helpful for people trying to figure out what to write about. Thus, we window shop for attractive topics instead of asking ourselves some useful questions: what are we interested in? What do we want to write about? What must we say?
