Why do you keep scheduling fear?

All this worrying…to whom or to what do you owe it? A little worrying, that’s inevitable. Excessive worrying, however, yields no fruit.

Is your fear of the worst-case scenario so precious to you that you absolutely must find time in your busy schedule to just sit there imagining soul-crushing failure?

Be honest with yourself: If you were to open Google calendar and schedule in exactly how often you indulge in unproductive thoughts – comparisons to other people, unnecessary self-criticism, ruminations of failure – how much time would be left for the activities that bring to your life meaning and joy?

Not much, I’m guessing.

There’s a sobering thought: a ludicrous amount of your time – your most sacred resource – is wasted away by fear and worry. But don’t worry, you’re not alone. This is a note to self.
